How to connect Yacan with HazCheckin: one code per booking for each property
Step-by-step guide to connecting Yacan with HazCheckin: authorise your account, match each Yacan property to its listing and let every booking get its access code once registration is complete.
Updated on 13 October 2026

If your properties use Yacan locks, HazCheckin can create each booking’s code for you: Yacan generates it, it opens every lock of the property, it is valid only between check-in and check-out, and the guest sees it only once guest registration is complete.
What the integration does
- Creates one access per booking, using the property’s check-in and check-out dates and times.
- One code for the whole property. Yacan groups the locks of each unit into a property; the guest gets a single code that opens the building entrance and the door of their stay.
- Delivers it at the right moment. The guest sees their access on the check-in page once every traveller has completed registration (and signed the contract, if you use one).
- Follows booking changes. If the dates change, the access is updated; if the booking is cancelled, it is removed; at checkout, it expires.
- Leaves other stays alone. Each booking has its own access: removing it does not affect other guests.
- Remote opening from your dashboard on locks with a gateway.
Requirements
A HazCheckin account on the Pro or Enterprise plan and the organisation admin role: only an admin can connect accounts, assign doors and open remotely.
- A Yacan account with your locks registered in the Yacan app.
- At least one property created in the Yacan panel (app.yacan.es) with its locks assigned. In Yacan, a property is the unit that gets booked: an apartment, a room or a villa, together with every lock its code opens.
- Locks with a keypad to receive codes; for remote opening, a connected gateway as well.
Step 1: prepare your properties in Yacan
- Sign in to app.yacan.es.
- Create one property per unit you rent and give it the same name you use in HazCheckin.
- Assign each property its locks: the door of the stay and, where relevant, the building entrance or shared areas.
HazCheckin never creates or edits properties in Yacan: what you set up there is what you will see in your dashboard.
Step 2: connect your Yacan account
- In your HazCheckin dashboard, go to Integrations → Smart locks.
- On the Yacan card, click Authorise account.
- Sign in to Yacan and accept access to your properties and bookings.
- You will return to HazCheckin with the account shown as Connected.
Credentials are stored encrypted and are only used to manage access for your bookings.
Step 3: find your devices
Click Find devices. Under “Devices and groups” you will see two kinds of entries:
- Yacan properties, shown as groups with the PIN capability: they issue the code for each booking.
- Standalone locks, with the Remote unlock capability: they can be opened from the dashboard with the Unlock button. Only use it if you know who is at the door.
If a property appears without the PIN capability, it has no locks assigned in Yacan.
Step 4: match each Yacan property to its listing
- Open the property in HazCheckin and click Smart locks.
- Tick the Yacan property that corresponds to that listing and mark it as Private. Its code already opens every lock of the unit, so there is no need to add the standalone locks.
- Check the time zone and the check-in and check-out times: they set how long the access is valid.
- Choose how many hours in advance the access is created and how many it is shown to the guest. Showing it earlier does not make it valid earlier.
- Optionally add entry instructions and save.
Step 5: check a booking
On each booking you will find the “Doors for this reservation” card with the assigned Yacan property and the state of the access (Creating, Ready, Revoked…) next to the Withdraw access button. Every access is a booking in Yacan, so you will also see it in app.yacan.es with its code and dates.
Frequently asked questions
When does the guest see their access?
Once every traveller on the booking has completed registration, and within the delivery window you configured. They also get an email with the link to their check-in page; the code is never sent by email.
What happens if the dates change or the booking is cancelled?
The access is updated with the new dates or cancelled in Yacan, which removes it from the locks. For bookings that arrive through a PMS or iCal, the change is applied within an hour.
Can I remove an access manually?
Yes, with Withdraw access on the booking. Other bookings are not affected.
What happens if I disconnect the account?
Active accesses are cancelled and, once the revocations finish, the credentials are deleted. Future bookings stop receiving access. Your properties and locks in Yacan are left untouched.
Can I choose the code?
No. Yacan generates it to avoid clashes between bookings; HazCheckin stores it encrypted and only shows it to the guest on their check-in page.
