Booking.com removes your check-in link and shows [link removed]: how to fix it
If your Booking.com guests get the check-in email with “[link removed]” instead of the link, approve the HazCheckin domain and our sender address in the extranet security settings. Here's how, in five minutes.
Updated on 14 October 2026

Booking.com doesn’t share your guests’ real email address: it gives them an anonymous address ending in @guest.booking.com and forwards whatever you send. While forwarding, it strips every link whose domain you haven’t approved and replaces it with [link removed]. So when HazCheckin’s auto check-in emails one of those addresses, the guest receives the message, but without the link to complete their check-in.
The fix is to approve, once, in the Booking.com extranet, the domain of our links and the address we send emails from.
What to approve
| What | Value |
|---|---|
| Link domain | guest.hazcheckin.com |
| Sender email | contact@hazcheckin.com |
If you set up a custom domain for your guests’ check-in (for example checkin.yourcompany.com), approve that domain instead of guest.hazcheckin.com.
Step by step in the Booking.com extranet
- Sign in to the Booking.com extranet with an administrator user.
- Go to Property → Messaging preferences and open Security settings. Booking.com will ask for two-factor verification.
- Under Approved links, click Add a link and add the whole domain
guest.hazcheckin.com. Don’t paste the link of a single reservation: every guest gets a different URL, and only approving the domain covers them all. - Under Approved email addresses, add
contact@hazcheckin.com. Booking.com may not deliver emails coming from unregistered addresses. - Make sure the option to block all links is turned off. When it’s on, Booking.com strips approved links too.
If you manage properties under different Booking.com accounts, repeat these steps in each one.
How to check it works
In Reservations, open the menu of a Booking.com reservation and choose Send check-in email. Then confirm in the extranet inbox (or with the guest) that the message shows the full link and not [link removed].
If [link removed] still shows up
- Check the domain. It must be exactly
guest.hazcheckin.com(or your custom domain), with nohttps://or path. - Check the global block. The block-all-links option overrides the approved list.
- Contact Booking.com. Booking.com can disable link sending on an account when it detects suspicious activity. Only their support can turn it back on.
Links in Booking.com templates
Extranet message templates go through the same filter, so they need the approved domain too. Once it’s approved, you can send your property check-in link automatically from the extranet itself: see the guide on Booking.com message templates.
FAQ
Why does the email arrive without the link?
Because Booking.com forwards the message to the guest from its anonymous address and, for security, removes links that aren’t on your approved list. The rest of the text is delivered as is.
Do I have to do this for every reservation?
No. Approving the domain once per Booking.com account covers every reservation, current and future.
Does it affect Airbnb or other channels?
No. It only happens with @guest.booking.com addresses. When the guest gives you their real email, the check-in email reaches them with the link and nothing needs approving.
